Laura Sills is a NYC based photographer whose street and cityscape style can best be described as romantic with a small touch of surrealism. She is best known for her rich purple and pink tones that reflect the rose-colored glasses through which a lot of people see life in New York City.

During the height of the pandemic when people were avoiding mass transit and you couldn’t sit inside a restaurant, I started riding the ferries around the city. My artistic perspective shifted right along with the rest of the world while I watched the skyline drift and then return to view. I began looking past the surface of what was in front of me and started seeing photos in a new way. These reflections are some of my favorites: all completely real, no double exposures, in chronological order.
